Course Manager

For more than 15 Years the Chair of Business Administration and Business Informatics, in particular Digital Business and Digital Entrepreneurship headed by Prof. Dr. Tobias Kollmann, has been pursuing the Goal of applying qualitative Problem solving to theoretical Questions in the Digital Economy realm. Both singular Topics dealing with Digital Business Processes as well as interdisciplinary Research within the traditional Principles of Business Administration and Business Informatics are addressed. In 2007 Prof. Dr. Tobias Kollmann received a special Prize at the UNESCO “Entrepreneurial Thinking and Acting Award” for his innovative Teaching Concept. Together with his Colleagues at the Ruhr Campus Academy of the University of Duisburg-Essen the well-known Digital Business-Expert makes his Knowledge available as part of a continuing professional Training-Program for the first time.

Prof. Dr. Tobias Kollmann

 

Prof. Dr. Tobias Kollmann holds the Chair of E-Business and E-Entrepreneurship at the University of Duisburg-Essen and thus teaches basic and start-up knowledge for the digital economy. He received a special prize at the UNESCO Entrepreneurship Award "Entrepreneurial Thinking and Acting" for his special teaching and support concept in this area. His associated textbooks "E-Business" and "E-Entrepreneurship" have been the standard works in this field for over 15 years. Since 1996, however, he has also been working on scientific issues related to the Internet, e-business and e-commerce. His research results have been published in international A-journals such as Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice (ETP), Journal of Business Venturing (JBV), Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal (SEJ) and Journal of Management Information Systems (JMIS). As co-founder of AutoScout24, he was also one of the pioneers of the German Internet start-up scene and electronic marketplaces. In 2004, long before Apple, he worked with Motorola and Telekom to design the first mobile UMTS app in Germany and tested it in a field trial during Kiel Week. From 2013 to 2020, he was the chairman of the "Young Digital Economy" advisory board at the BMWI. Against this background, the editors of politik & kommunikation ranked him among the most important players in digitization in political Berlin. From 2014 to 2017, he was also the state representative for the digital economy in North Rhine-Westphalia. In 2012, he was voted "Business Angel of the Year" and according to Business Punk magazine, he is one of the 50 most important minds in the startup scene in Germany. In the same year, he was also a founding member of the Bundesverband Deutsche Startups e.V. Brandwatch counts "Prof_Kollmann" among the TOP-10 most influential Twitter authors on the topic of "Digital Transformation" and "Digital Leadership". According to FAZ, he was among the 100 most influential economists in Germany in 2018, 2019 and 2021 with "weight in media, research and politics". Since 2015, he has been a member of the supervisory board of listed steel and digital group Klöckner & Co SE. In 2019, he was also elected as deputy chairman to the supervisory board of COMECO GmbH & Co. KG, a FinTech spin-off of the Sparda Banken.

Prof. Dr. Jörg Müller-Lietzkow is Professor and President of the HafenCity University Hamburg (HCU). His research fields are digital Media Economy, mobile Media, Netpolitics, strategic Media Management, new institutional economics as well as the Gaming Industry. He is also lecturing Communication Science. Recent research projects are dealing with mobile Media (Tablets) and all day usage (including. Digital Humanities). He regularly consults Companies, Institutions and Politics. Since January 2014 he is co-speaker of the net policy foundation cnetz.

Prof. Dr. Sven Ripsas
The Berlin School of Economics and Law

 

Prof. Dr. Sven Ripsas is Professor for Entrepreneurship at The Berlin School of Economics and Law (HWR Berlin). His central research focus is the development of innovative business models. After his studies in business administration and two years in the controlling department of the Schering AG, he received his doctoral degree from Günter Faltin with the first dissertation about entrepreneurship in German language, founded several firms and continuously engaged himself as a consultant, advisory board member, and business angel for young firms. For his activities, Babson College (Boston, MA) awarded him the Appel-Prize „for bringing entrepreneurial vitality to academia“.

Prof. Dr. Klemens Skibicki
Cologne Business School

 

Prof. Dr. Klemens Skibicki received his doctoral degree (Dr. rer. po.) in Economic History in 2001 after studying Business and Economics at the University of Cologne. Since 2004 Klemens has been a Professor for Economics, Marketing and Marketing Research at the Cologne Business School. Together with Frank Mühlenbeck, and the lawyers Christian Solmecke and Ralf Höcker he founded the German Institute for Communication and Law in the Internet (DIKRI). Today’s focus of his work is the professional consulting in the area of digital transformation in his function as a co-founder of the Convidera GmbH in Cologne and Dusseldorf, which was founded in 2012.
